Sound, and Electronics
Abstract: The talk will present a survey of my
research activities that require electronic engineering and signal processing
algorithms in biomedical ultrasound and photo-acoustics. We will first discuss specific clinical
landscapes that define immediate challenges and engineering solutions to
respond, and state-of-art technology developed at Hopkins will be shared. Two
representative examples will be presented: (1) non-invasive brain monitoring
for rapid identification of at-risk patients; (2) transrectal imaging to detect
early prostate cancer at an unprecedented spatiospectral resolution.
